Whedon Farwell House

HUDSON, OHIO, USA

Originally Designed and built in 1826 by Lemuel Porter, The Whedon Farwell House remains a historic icon in the City of Hudson. Its proximity to the downtown and prominent angle on the site paired with its historic significance make it a well-known home in the area. As many historic homes over time, this home had undergone several insensitive alterations over the years. In renovating and adding to the structure we had the opportunity to remove what was not historically accurate, restore the original elements, and delicately add onto the structure. The project brought many challenges, tight site constraints, much scrutiny and pushback from the public but in the end came together and was well received.

The Whedon Farwell House received the 2024 Award of Excellence for Residential Restoration with Architecturally Appropriate Addition from the Cleveland Restoration Society and AIA Cleveland.
